Job Overview
Operate heavy-duty pickup trucks, flatbeds, or mini-floats to transport time-sensitive loads, such as drilling tools, pipe, and miscellaneous equipment. Work independently, often traveling long distances between job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Expedited Delivery: Pick up and deliver urgent loads to meet tight delivery windows
- Cargo Handling: Load, secure, and unload equipment using ratchet straps, chains, and edge protectors; verify load stability before departure
- Route Planning: Use GPS and ELD tools to plan efficient routes, minimize transit time, and reduce fuel costs
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections; report defects and perform minor repairs
- Customer Service: Communicate with dispatchers and clients to confirm loads, update on delivery status, and resolve issues professionally
- Safety: Follow all traffic laws, use PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety vest, gloves, glasses)
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Valid Class C Drivers Licence
- Clean driving record (no rear-end accidents in 3 years).
- No more than 3 moving violations or 2 accidents in MV record.
- Clean background and criminal history checks.
Work Environment
- Long hours on the road, often in remote or rural areas.
- Exposure to extreme weather, heavy equipment, and hazardous materials.
- On-call or scheduled runs depending on oilfield activity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
