Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR)
Full-Time
Every ticket sold. Every paddle raised. Every sponsor secured. Every donor thanked.
Behind each of HSPPR's signature events are thousands of animals whose lives are changed because someone cared enough to show up. We're looking for an experienced, creative, and organized Events Manager who is ready to lead unforgettable fundraising experiences that inspire generosity, strengthen our community, and directly support animals in need.
If you thrive on bringing big ideas to life, love balancing creativity with logistics, and can seamlessly transition from brainstorming event themes to negotiating vendor contracts to celebrating a record-breaking fundraising total, we'd love to meet you.
At the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, we offer compassionate care to animals, support safe communities, and provide socially conscious sheltering.
Our events don't just raise money-they build a community of animal lovers who make our lifesaving work possible.
You'll oversee HSPPR's portfolio of signature fundraising and donor engagement events across our Colorado Springs and Pueblo campuses, including:
-
Fur Ball – Our premier gala welcoming more than 500 guests and raising over $800,000 annually.
-
Pawtoberfest Dog Walk & Beer Fest – A community favorite with more than 2,000 attendees.
-
Whisker Brunch – A beloved fundraising gala supporting our Pueblo community.
-
Donor stewardship events, Happy Tails Happy Hours, community partnerships, third-party fundraisers, and more.
From the earliest planning meetings through post-event reporting, you'll own the entire event lifecycle while creating exceptional experiences for donors, sponsors, volunteers, and guests.
-
Plan, budget, and execute multiple large-scale fundraising events each year.
-
Create memorable donor experiences centered on hospitality, gratitude, and stewardship.
-
Lead event marketing efforts alongside our Marketing & Communications team.
-
Manage event websites, ticketing, auctions, email campaigns, and fundraising platforms.
-
Cultivate strong relationships with sponsors, vendors, community partners, and volunteers.
-
Oversee event budgets, contracts, logistics, timelines, and post-event evaluations.
-
Procure exciting silent and live auction items that help maximize fundraising success.
-
Ensure donor data and financial records are accurate and well maintained.
-
Supervise and mentor our Events Specialist while leading large teams of volunteers and cross-departmental staff.
-
Loves creating exceptional experiences and sweating the details.
-
Can confidently manage multiple complex projects without losing sight of deadlines.
-
Is both strategic and hands-on.
-
Builds strong relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and teammates.
-
Enjoys collaborating across departments to achieve ambitious fundraising goals.
-
Communicates with warmth, professionalism, and gratitude.
-
Stays calm under pressure-even when event day doesn't go exactly according to plan.
We're looking for someone with:
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-
Two or more years managing large fundraising events (events exceeding $100,000 preferred).
-
Experience in nonprofit development, event management, marketing, or communications.
-
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
-
Strong budgeting and project management skills.
-
Experience working with fundraising software such as GiveSmart, Bloomerang/Qgiv, Raiser's Edge, Mailchimp, or similar platforms.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
A collaborative spirit and passion for building meaningful donor relationships.
-
Valid Colorado driver's license and insurable driving record.
Animal handling experience is a plus-but a passion for our mission is essential.
Every event you create directly fuels HSPPR's lifesaving work.

This position also offers the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of training and 90 days of employment. Please note that evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays are expected during event seasons.
If you're energized by bringing people together, creating memorable experiences, and using your talents to make a lasting impact in our community, we'd love to hear from you.
