Job Title: Architectural Woodwork Drafter

American Woodwork is looking for an experienced Architectural Woodwork Drafter to join our team. This position is for someone who understands architectural millwork and can take architectural drawings, specifications, and field information and turn them into accurate shop drawings and production drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and finish schedules
- Create detailed architectural woodwork shop drawings
- Prepare production drawings and build drawings for the shop
- Draft custom millwork, casework, wall panels, reception desks, countertops, veneer work, and laminate work
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, production, purchasing, and installation teams
- Identify drawing conflicts, missing details, and constructability issues
- Revise drawings based on architect comments, field dimensions, and project changes
- Help ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and ready for production
Requirements:
- Experience drafting architectural woodwork or commercial millwork
- Strong AutoCAD experience required
- Microvellum, Inventor, Cabinet Vision, or similar millwork software experience is a plus
- Ability to read architectural plans and details
- Understanding of how millwork is built, fabricated, finished, and installed
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Experience with AWI/QCP standards is a plus
Work Location:
Waukesha, WisconsinRemote or hybrid may be considered for the right candidate.
Compensation:
Pay will be based on experience and qualifications.
