Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engine equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, and other power tools using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tune-ups, and parts replacements to extend equipment lifespan.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and mechanical systems repair techniques to complete repairs efficiently.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics on equipment with electrical systems or diesel engines to identify faults accurately.
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment components to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and diagnostic reports for each job performed.
- Assist customers by providing expert advice on equipment maintenance, repairs, and sales opportunities when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or in a similar service technician role with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, heavy machinery, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, diesel engine repair, and automotive repair techniques.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and generator repair tools.
- Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and mechanical systems repair is highly desirable.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
