About the Role We’re seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented Manual Machinist/Shop Support team member to assist with light machining, shop organization, and daily operational tasks. Ideal candidates work cleanly, quickly, accurately, and communicate respectfully in a small manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Light machining of metals and plastics
- Cleaning and maintenance of shop tools and equipment
- Inventory and organization of supplies and tooling
- Small‑part handling and measurement
- Reading 2D drawings and engineering sketches
- Following safety procedures, company policies, and instructions
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience with manual lathe, manual mill, and band saw
- Skilled with calipers, rulers, and basic vision inspection tools
- Strong attention to detail; able to perform repetitive tasks accurately
- Understanding of surface finishes and polishing techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Punctual, reliable, consistent attendance
- Organized, clean work habits; able to work efficiently
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand and sit for extended periods
- Steady hands for small‑part work; able to use sharps safely
- Able to bend, reach, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Able to operate lightweight tabletop and floor‑level devices
- Able to read, write, and speak fluent English
