What You'll Do
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Administer respiratory therapies, oxygen treatments, aerosol medications, and airway management.
- Operate and monitor ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment.
- Perform diagnostic testing including pulse oximetry, arterial blood gases, and pulmonary function assessments.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response and code situations.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, medications, and home care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation while following hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- Wisconsin Respiratory Care License (or eligibility to obtain).
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment while delivering compassionate patient care.
