- Pay Rate: $38–$50/hr (Blended Rate) based on experience
We are seeking a skilled Travel Sterile Processing Technician to support the daily operations of the Sterile Processing and Supply Department within a fast-paced surgical services environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for instrument decontamination, sterilization, tray assembly, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention and sterilization standards.
- Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and medical equipment prior to sterilization
- Assemble, inspect, and sterilize instrument trays and procedural sets according to department standards
- Verify missing instruments and maintain accurate tray inventory documentation
- Operate and maintain sterile processing equipment including washers, steam autoclaves, and related devices
- Maintain detailed records of sterilization loads, maintenance activities, and quality control procedures
- Inspect surgical instruments to ensure functionality and proper working condition prior to use
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment and instruments to department leadership
- Communicate effectively with operating room personnel and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterile processing environment
- Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and safety protocols in accordance with departmental standards
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and commitment to continuous professional growth
- Active CRCST Certification required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR Certification required
- Active Washington State License required
- Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience required
- Experience operating sterile processing equipment including washers and autoclaves required
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and power equipment required
- Experience using Meditech EMR preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterilization and infection prevention procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Commitment to patient safety and quality assurance standards

- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and sterilization records
- Strong professional work ethic and adaptability within surgical services operations
