Job Title: Vice President, Environmental Health and Safety FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Overview
The Vice President, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), is responsible for leading ATW’s enterprise-wide EHS strategy and programs across all business units. This role provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and guidance to ensure a strong culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. The VP, EHS, serves as a trusted advisor and coach to executive leadership, plant leadership, and local EHS teams while driving alignment and consistency across all operations. Reporting to the Sr VP of Operations, this position partners cross-functionally to enhance safety performance, reduce risk, and support operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of environmental health and safety (EHS), including creating and delivering leadership training and optimizing processes to drive efficiencies and reduce risk.

Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce workplace risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices for all enterprise-wide locations.

Plan, organize, and direct inspections of facilities, work areas, and equipment at assigned operations.

Create and implement employee training programs to be administered in areas such as workplace safety, compliance, hazard identification and risk assessments, and the use of safety equipment.

Participate in enterprise-wide safety audits across the organization and lead corrective actions to closure with the local operations leadership team.

Lead investigations relevant to EHS events occurring within the organization. Ensure corrective actions are purposeful, complete, implemented and sustained.

Coordinate, manage and respond to all regulatory agency level inspections and activity.
- Use a Kaizen approach to eliminate waste to achieve the benefits of continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment.

Accurately maintain EHS related data and records using EH&S management system software, or other safety related software systems.

Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees at all levels of the organization on safety initiatives and necessary changes.

Evaluate EHS programs to determine their adequacy including review of short and long-term strategic safety goals, development needs, and the use of best practices.

Ensure EHS compliance by rolling out and implementing corporate policies and standards to each location within the region.

Lead and influence Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives within a matrix organization, providing direction to both direct and indirect reports while partnering cross-functionally to drive alignment, accountability, and continuous improvement across all locations.
- Develop and strengthen local site teams through coaching, technical guidance, and clear communication of expectations to employees and leadership at all levels, using professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.

Education – Experience Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline

7–10 years of experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leadership role within a manufacturing environment

7+ years of experience in management leadership role

Demonstrated success managing multi-plant responsibilities highly desired

Strong mathematical, reasoning, and analytical skills

Kaizen and continuous improvement background with Six Sigma experience or similar methodologies preferred

Board of Certified Safety Professionals certifications desired (BCSP, CSP, OHST, etc.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Comfortable serving as a hands-on leader capable of developing and executing both strategic initiatives and tactical plans

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across multiple levels of leadership

Significant leadership capability with perseverance and influence as a change agent

Comfortable addressing safety behaviors and performance opportunities with employees and leaders across the organization

Understanding of advanced manufacturing applications and automation with relevant industry experience

Proven ability to multi-task, complete projects on time and within budget, and adapt to changing priorities

Strong work ethic with a high degree of initiative

Experience working within a matrix organizational structure is highly desired

Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and general computer/laptop usage

Experience of using safety management systems

Ability to travel domestically approximately 75%
