Responsibilities
- Lead high-energy group fitness classes across a variety of formats such as cardio, strength training, HIIT, yoga, or Pilates, ensuring all participants are engaged and motivated.
- Develop innovative class programs that align with current fitness trends and meet the diverse needs of members.
- Ensure proper use of equipment and demonstrate correct body mechanics and manual handling techniques to promote safety during classes.
- Provide personalized coaching and feedback to help participants improve technique, prevent injuries, and maximize results.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety standards, including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation protocols.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their fitness goals, address concerns, and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Stay updated on biomechanics, physiology knowledge, strength and conditioning training programs, and sports coaching best practices to enhance class quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading group fitness classes or personal training within a health club or gym environment preferred, but we are open to beginners with a background in fitness and a willingness to learn!
- Certification in CPR and AED operation is mandatory; additional certifications in first aid are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics, physiology, and biomechanics relevant to exercise programming.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging program design tailored to various skill levels and client needs.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on client service and motivation.
- Ability to instruct strength training techniques safely while emphasizing proper form and weight handling in the workplace.
- Experience working with athletes or clients requiring specialized fitness or sports coaching is advantageous.
- Team leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of fitness industry standards, customer service excellence, and gym experience is highly desirable.
