Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in an in-person setting. As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), foster inclusive classroom environments, and collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure each student’s success. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver tailored instructional programs that meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, visual impairments, or hearing impairments.
- Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with educational laws and regulations, ensuring personalized learning goals are met.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, educational technology, and instructional modifications to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to create a safe and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists—to support comprehensive student development.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on progress, discuss concerns, and coordinate support strategies.
- Incorporate evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), music therapy, or recreational therapy when appropriate to enrich the learning experience.
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification in special education or equivalent credentials for working with students with disabilities.
- Proven experience working with children or students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or related special needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, instructional modifications, and educational compliance standards.
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with effective communication skills for working with students, parents, and team members.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools, educational software, and assistive devices used in special education settings.
- Experience implementing behavioral health strategies and behavioral therapy techniques to support student behavior management.
- Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is highly desirable.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
