Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, stoves, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas to uphold food safety standards
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming service periods
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
- Support the kitchen team by communicating effectively with chefs and fellow cooks to coordinate meal preparation
- Execute food prep tasks such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating with precision and consistency
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production is essential
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food presentation methods
- Catering experience or involvement in large-scale meal preparation is advantageous

Pay: $17.50 - $22.00 per hour
