Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic General Manager to lead our bustling cafe operations. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of café operations, including leadership of approximately 25 team members, customer experience, food quality, staffing, scheduling, inventory, and overall store performance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and is passionate about health, hospitality, and team development.
Duties
- Lead and motivate the restaurant team to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold high standards of food quality and safety.
- Oversee daily operations, including food preparation, cooking, and ensuring adherence to health regulations and safety standards.
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining optimal stock levels using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Supervise staff training, development, and performance evaluations to foster a skilled and motivated team.
- Handle cash management duties including cash handling procedures, shift banking, and reconciliation.
- Coordinate shift management to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours in quick service or fast food environments.
- Maintain budgetary controls, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Oversee kitchen management tasks such as food production, food handling, and ensuring consistency in culinary standards.
- Implement food safety protocols and ensure compliance with all health regulations related to food industry standards.
- Engage with customers directly to resolve issues promptly, enhancing overall guest satisfaction.
- Conduct staff interviews for hiring purposes and participate in ongoing training & development programs to elevate team performance.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or quick-service management experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a large team
- Organized, dependable, and solution-oriented
- Experience with scheduling, inventory, and labor management
- Comfortable working mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
- Passion for health, wellness, hospitality, or fitness is a plus
- ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
