Join Our Team: Veterinary Assistant / Registered Veterinary Technician
Pet Pals Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with pets, clients, and fellow team members while providing exceptional patient care.
This position offers a variety of responsibilities, including patient care, diagnostics, surgery support, client education, and teamwork throughout the hospital. If you are dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about veterinary medicine, we'd love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
- Perform patient intake, including obtaining medical history and vital signs
- Provide nursing care and treatments to hospitalized patients
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters
- Assist with surgical procedures and patient recovery
- Monitor anesthesia and support patient safety during procedures
- Prepare and maintain treatment and surgical areas, instruments, and equipment
- Collect and process laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostics
- Take and process radiographs, including dental radiographs
- Educate pet owners on preventative care, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
- Assist with client communication and front desk duties as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Veterinary Assistant experience or RVT credential (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on veterinary experience
- Surgical experience required (anesthesia monitoring is a big plus!)
- Experience with lab procedures and radiology
- Ability to work closely and efficiently with one doctor
- Comfortable balancing clinical and front desk responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused in a fast-paced setting
- Great communication skills and a team-first mindset
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to high-quality care
- Proficiency in animal catheterization
- Knowledge of Daysmart and Idexx is helpful, but not required.
