We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and air brake inspections to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on heavy equipment such as vehicle systems for truck drivers.
- Use automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and expedite repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Work on fleet equipment only
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools including power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and hand tools.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex vehicle systems effectively.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery is highly desirable.
- Certification or training in diesel mechanics or automotive repair is preferred; relevant certifications related to air brake systems or vehicle electrical systems are advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely.
