Shifts Available:
- Monday-Friday: 8am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-7pm (Split Shift) or 8am-7pm (whole shift)
- Weekends/ 8am-7pm. Saturday & Sunday. Bi-weekly (every other)
Position Summary
Safe Haven Home Care, LLC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and consistent Female Direct Support Professional to support a male client who is blind, has cerebral palsy, and requires hands-on assistance with all ADLs. All care is provided in the client’s home, where he resides with his great-grandmother (80+), who is no longer able to physically lift or support him.
This role centers on providing person-centered care, safety, companionship, medication administration, and routine support that enhances the client’s daily comfort and independence.
Environment & Transportation Requirements
The client lives in a rural area with uneven terrain, so the DSP must have:
- Reliable personal transportation and active auto insurance
- A vehicle capable of safely navigating rural or rugged roads
- Strong reliability and punctuality
Client Preference (Important)
The client is a male and experiences significant discomfort around male caregivers.
For his emotional comfort and well-being, the family requests a female caregiver only.
This preference is based solely on the client’s personal needs and is permitted under provider guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
- Engaging, dependable, and consistent are most important to the Individual and family.
- Provide hands-on assistance with toileting, hygiene, dressing, and personal care.
- Assist with food preparation, simple meals, snacks, and hydration.
- Provide companionship, conversation, and supportive engagement during shifts.
- Assist with lifting and transfers, using proper techniques and assistive devices as available.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including light housekeeping related to the client’s care.
- Follow the individualized care plan and communicate any changes in the client’s condition or needs.
- Document services accurately and on time.
- Work respectfully with the client’s great-grandmother and family members.
Requirements
- Female applicants only, per client’s comfort and personal-care preference.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and proof of active auto insurance.
- Reliable transportation capable of rural travel.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be 18+ and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check (required by Ohio DoDD).
- Ability and willingness to perform lifting and physical assistance.
- Caregiving or DSP experience preferred, but we will train the right person.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and compassion.
- Medication Administration CAT 1 Certification: preferred but not required. We will certify upon working with the individual, if needed.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
