Experienced Candidates only. -- Plaintiff's Personal Injury law firm is seeking an experienced personal injury litigation/trial paralegal. This position will work alongside attorneys during all phases of the litigation and trial processes. This person needs to be very well organized, detail oriented, and able to handle fast paced atmosphere.
Duties & Responsibilities
- This is NOT a secretarial position, if you DO NOT have true PARALEGAL experience DO NOT APPLY!! While we do not have support secretaries, you will be performing your own secretarial work, but MUST HAVE PARALEGAL experience;
- Interact with clients, experts, court personnel and opposing counsel on a daily basis;
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, motions, notices and subpoenas; file with court and execute service as needed;
- Calendar hearings, deadlines and other relevant dates;
- Organize case files electronically (scanning) and maintain hard file; maintain pleadings and discovery indexes; medical, coordinate document productions; organize and handle exhibits and/or privilege logs;
- attend trial as needed, even if out of town;
- various other litigation and pre-litigation duties as needed.
Desired Skills & Experience: The successful candidate must be highly organized and pay close attention to detail; have the ability to juggle deadlines in a fast-paced environment; be able to manage multiple projects and prioritize; possess strong writing and communication skills; possess excellent proofreading skills; and have proven work experience as a paralegal in the personal injury area.
Position requirements include: Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a litigation or pre-litigation paralegal in a law firm (Personal Injury field preferred) Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience with document management systems, PACER and other e-filing; Westlaw; ProLaw or some case management software.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
