Contract to hire position

Pay: $20.00/Hour - 2nd Shift pays a $3.00/Hour Shift Differential = $23/hour
2nd Shift hours: 2:30pm – 11:00pm
Summary:
This is an entry-level position to learn the process of assembly and installation of pipes in units by performing the following duties in reasonable and productive frames:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/8th inch.
- Must be able to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions.
- Must be able to use hand tools.
- Cuts, threads, and bends pipe with a Hydraulic Pipe Bender
- Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings; including iron, steel, copper and plastic.
- Ability to use acetylene and oxygen torch set.
- Train and work in multiple types of manufacturing positions (i.e. assembly, paint, wire and weld).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and understand English instructions.
- Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
