Responsibilities
- Safely operate semi-dump trucks with manual and automated transmissions, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load, secure, and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as pish button and manual roll tarps.
- Drive route-specific deliveries maintaining punctuality and efficiency.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer, checking brakes, tires, lights, and load security to prevent accidents or delays.
- Manage load documentation accurately and complete all required logs, reports, and delivery paperwork diligently.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delivery status, or any issues encountered on the road.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight as needed, ensuring proper handling of sensitive or heavy cargo.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a valid CDL-A license.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and specialized trailers such as flatbeds and dump trailers.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving freight handling, route driving, and load & unload procedures.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to truck driving, including vehicle inspections and cargo securement.
