About the Role
We’re looking for a dependable, experienced mechanic who can hit the ground running with in trailer repair. This role is perfect for someone who knows their way around heavy-duty equipment, can diagnose issues accurately, perform quality repairs, and keep equipment safe and road‑ready.
This is full-time, steady-hours position in a well-known shop where you're trusted to do real mechanical work. We stay busy, we work hard, and we take care of our people. No dealership politics, no corporate nonsense, and no one breathing down your neck.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs on trucks and trailers using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Work overhead, climb ladders, and safely use hydraulic jacks
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete proper repairs
- Complete all required paperwork, including Repair Orders and PM sheets
- Keep tools and equipment clean, organized, and stored properly
- Perform Heavy‑Duty Inspections and follow DOT guidelines
- Follow all shop safety policies, including PPE and proper tool use
- Handle various mechanical tasks based on experience level
- Minimize turnaround time to keep equipment productive
- Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude with the team
- Adapt to changing priorities and assignments from management
- Ensure equipment meet safe operating standards
- Report to work on time, alert, and ready
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, coworkers, and management
Required Qualifications
- Tractor‑Trailer and Tanker Repair Experience — Required
- Knowledge of safe operation of shop tools/equipment — Required
- Welding experience —Required
- DOT certification in FHWA Inspections & Air Brakes — Required
- Own tools — Required
- Valid driver’s license — Required
- 18+ years old — Required

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
