JOB DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES is recruiting for a Casework Management Specialist Supervisor for the Carson City Child Welfare office. Casework Management Specialist Supervisor (CMSS) is responsible for reviewing and approving the work product of their subordinates. Work products they approve and create should be accurate, neat, well organized and thorough. Decisions made should be based in sound reasoning and good judgement, utilizing the child welfare practice model, policy and procedure in guiding decision making. CMSS must be continuously educating subordinate staff to relevant NV Statue and Administrative Code. CMSS must ensure staff are educated about and adhere to applicable IVE requirements and local court rules pertaining to court proceedings, including preparing accurate court reports and updates, being prepared to testify in court and follow through with court recommendations/orders. CMSS must act in accordance with statute, regulation, policy and procedure. Prepare and administer training on a wide variety of topics including but not limited to; child welfare practice model, UNITY, policy, procedure, statue and Administrative Code. Consult, coach and mentor staff re: individual cases assigned to them, emphasizing the importance of family engagement. Provide weekly 1:1 consultation /supervision to first year caseworkers and a minimum of biweekly supervision, if appropriate thereafter. Consistently and timely complete required UNITY windows. Ensure court reports are accurate, thorough and filed in compliance with local court rules. Alert appropriate person (DA, SSM 3 or AG) immediately upon receipt of court recommendations/order that the Division disagrees with or is unable to comply.

Casework Management Specialists provide casework services and service coordination for children, vulnerable and/or older adults, and their respective families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar residential setting. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, gerontology, or closely related social science or human services related field and four years of professional experience providing casework services specific to children, adults, families, vulnerable and/or older adults in a health and/or human services setting; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist III or Social Worker III in Nevada State service; OR two years of experience as a Casework Management Specialist II or Social Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above. Ability to: evaluate need and level of response, critically think through problems and develop/facilitate appropriate solutions; serve as an agency representative with community services and public agencies; review case and safety plans regarding children, vulnerable and/or older adults, and their respective family members and prove effective assessment of social service needs and/or critical client issues and problems; create, implement and monitor procedures and/or policies related to case management services for children, vulnerable and/or older adults, and their respective families; identify goals and develop strategies based on established objectives and available resources; assume control and resolve critical situations in a safe and expedient manner; develop and maintain a cohesive relationship with multidisciplinary teams, community organizations, public agencies, courts and law enforcement; provide supervision to subordinate staff, evaluate performance; establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, management and federal, State, and local agencies.
