Line Cook/Prep Cook
Happy Belly is a woman-owned kitchen within Werk Force Brewing in Plainfield, IL. We offer a beer-centered menu for brewery guests Wednesdays through Sundays. Additionally, we cater private events on- and off-premises and provide personal chef services. Our approach is fresh, seasonal, and flavorful food. Happy Belly Prep and Line Cooks provide support in all aspects of the kitchen.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure the kitchen meets food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Prepare and serve food during busy lunch and dinner services.
- As needed, wash all cookware and utensils, making sure they are sanitized and stored properly.
- Dispose of garbage, wash down floors, walls and all surfaces.
- Take customer orders at food service counter.
- Assist chefs with food preparation, following company recipes and using culinary knowledge and experience.
- Package and label food.
- Represent Happy Belly with a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Current Food Handlers Certificate (Happy Belly will pay cost if you do not currently have one).
- Prior professional kitchen experience and/or culinary school training (either in progress or completed) is preferred but not required
- Attention to detail and focus on quality and consistency.
- Team player with a positive disposition.
- Great time management and efficiency skills.
Requirements:
- Able to carry 25-50 pounds and stand on your feet for prolonged periods of time.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekday nights, weekend days and weekend nights.
Compensation:
Happy Belly Prep and Line Cooks are paid competitively and participate in pooled tips with other kitchen staff.
