The English Valleys Community School District is seeking an Assistant HS Girls Track Coach who will help the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including practice planning, skill development, and team management. They focus on athlete development, ensuring a positive and safe training environment, and contributing to the team's success.
Key Responsibilities:
Practice Planning & Execution: Assist in designing and implementing practice plans, including drills, exercises, and warm-up/cool-down routines.
Skill Development: Provide instruction and feedback to athletes on fundamental skills and techniques, focusing on individual event needs.
Athletic Performance Monitoring: Observe, assess, and provide feedback on athlete performance during practices and competitions.
Team Management & Leadership: Support the Head Coach in team leadership, communication, and discipline.
Positive Team Environment: Foster a positive and encouraging environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
Safety & Injury Prevention: Ensure athletes are training safely, monitor for signs of fatigue or injury, and provide first aid if necessary.
Communication: Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school personnel.
Record Keeping & Organization: Maintain accurate records of athlete attendance, performance, and equipment.
Equipment Management: Assist in organizing and maintaining team equipment and facilities.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Qualifications:
A passion for track and field and a commitment to helping athletes reach their potential.
Knowledge of track and field rules and regulations.
Experience coaching or participating in track and field at a high school or collegiate level is preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and other staff members.
Ability to work with diverse groups of athletes and parents.
Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
