About Katy Jewett
Hundreds of organizers and activists trace the start of their journey to a training led by Katy Jewett. She began organizing in the Texas Senate gallery during Wendy Davis's filibuster, worked on campaigns across the country, and helped flip Congressional District 7 while at the Harris County Democratic Party.
After being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2019, Katy continued organizing from her bed, helping elect a Democratic supermajority on the Harris County Commissioners Court in 2022. After she passed in 2023, her friends and family launched this program to ensure her legacy of training the next generation lives on.
