Job Title: Trailer Upgrade Technician

JOB PURPOSE
The Trailer Upgrade Technician is a right-person, right-seat role within the Service Department at Brechbill Trailers.
This position owns the timely and high-quality execution of customer-purchased upgrades and accessory installations. The Technician operates within our EOS framework by taking clear ownership of their seat, hitting measurable targets, and contributing to a shop culture built on accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Safe & Compliant Operations
- Perform all work in compliance with shop safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Use proper PPE and follow established safe work procedures for every task. Identify and immediately report any unsafe conditions to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure all completed work meets or exceeds quality and compliance standards before sign-off.
Upgrade Execution — On Time, Every Time
- Execute all assigned customer upgrades and accessory installations with precision and speed.
- Take full ownership of each job from start to completion — no hand-offs left incomplete. Follow SOPs for each upgrade type and flag missing or unclear procedures to the Service Writer.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity targets as established on the departmental scorecard. Prioritize jobs in alignment with the schedule provided by the Service Writer.
Shop Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace throughout and at the end of every shift.
- Return tools, equipment, and parts to their designated locations after each use. Identify and report supply or tooling needs before they cause delays.
- Contribute to a shop environment that reflects the standards of a professional operation.
Productivity & Timelines
- Manage personal workflow to maximize throughput without sacrificing quality.
- Communicate proactively if a job is trending behind schedule — no surprises. Track time-per-job and work toward consistent improvement in efficiency.
- Support team productivity by staying in your lane, doing your job well, and helping where capacity allows.
Communication & Job Coordination
- Notify the Service Writer immediately upon completion of each job so it can be closed out and invoiced.
- Report any issues encountered during a job — damaged parts, incorrect specs, access problems — before proceeding.
- Monitor team chat for task assignments, schedule updates, and job priority changes.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with the Service Writer on all scheduling matters.
- Report operational concerns, safety issues, and performance feedback directly to the Operations Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with trailer accessories, hitches, or related equipment preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without close supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Basic proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in conduct and appearance.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
