At Greater Goods, coffee is more than a product—it’s a craft, a community, and a way to make a positive impact. As a Coffee Production Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of the journey that takes coffee from green beans to the finished product our customers know and love.
This is a hands-on, dynamic role where no two days look exactly the same. You’ll work alongside our production and roasting teams to roast, package, fulfill, and ship coffee while learning how the many pieces of the coffee supply chain come together.
Whether you’re already passionate about coffee or simply curious to learn an exciting craft, we’ll teach you the coffee skills you need to grow.
What You’ll Do
- Produce & Package: Weigh, grind, package, seal, and label whole bean and ground coffee with precision and care.
- Fulfill Orders: Pick, pack, and prepare coffee orders for daily deliveries, wholesale customers, and shipments.
- Support Production: Operate equipment such as scales, grinders, sealers, and packaging machines.
- Keep Quality High: Perform routine quality checks to ensure every package is accurately labeled, securely sealed, and ready to go.
- Receive & Organize: Help receive coffee and supplies, inspect shipments, and maintain accurate inventory.
- Make Cold Brew: Assist with producing and kegging cold brew and other products, including cleaning and preparing returned kegs.
- Keep It Clean: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe roastery and regularly clean equipment and work areas.
- Learn Coffee: Participate in weekly coffee training and cuppings led by our head roaster, trainer, or production manager.
- Know Our Mission: Learn about our coffees, charity partners, production processes, and the people and places behind every cup.
- Support Customers: Assist with walk-in client sales and customer service when needed.
- Be Part of the Team: Jump in wherever you’re needed and help keep the production floor moving.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, curious, hardworking, and ready to get their hands dirty. You don’t need to be a coffee expert—we’ll train the right person.
You should be able to:
- Show up on time and be dependable—consistency matters in a production environment.
- Communicate clearly, ask questions, and be open to learning.
- Stay focused and detail-oriented while juggling multiple tasks.
- Work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Regularly lift and move items weighing 50+ lbs.
- Work comfortably around the sounds of coffee roasters, grinders, filling equipment, and other production machinery.
- Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workplace.
- Have reliable transportation and be eligible to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience is a plus, but it’s not required. We’re happy to train someone with the right attitude and work ethic.
