Primary Job Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Early Intervention Service Coordinator is to serve as the single point of contact for children/families eligible for Early Intervention Services. The Early Intervention Service Coordinator must adhere to guidelines set by both Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), BabyNet, and the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) while maintaining Easterseals South Carolina (ESSC) policies and Standard Operating Procedures. The Early Intervention Service Coordinator will simultaneously fulfill the ESSC Mission of providing exceptional services to ensure children with disabilities or special needs have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in their communities.
The Service Coordinator will maintain a caseload of 45-60 children for ongoing Service Coordination and serve as temporary Service Coordinator for new referrals, transfers, or caseload transitions from other areas across the state by completing intakes (CBA/RBI/IFSP or FSP Meetings/Referrals). Intake numbers will vary depending upon the Service Coordination caseload size.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of an approved Bachelor’s degree or higher in the following: Child/Human Development, Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or Sociology.
· Minimum 1-year experience working with children ages 0 – 5 years.
· CPR certification required.
