Part-Time Campus Safety Officer (Unarmed) – VICTORVILLE
District & Charter Patrol is seeking a professional, dependable, and mature Unarmed Campus Safety Officer to join our team. This position is ideal for candidates who are committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment while interacting professionally with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience successfully de-escalating conflicts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Experience working with youth or within a school environment is strongly preferred.

Position Details:
- Part-Time
- Availability: Tuesday – Friday Must be available between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Location: Barstow/Victorville
- Foot Patrol Position
- Must be available to cover additional shifts as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid California Guard Card
- Certificates for California's required 40-hour security training
- Minimum of 2 years of professional security experience
- Proven experience de-escalating confrontational situations through effective communication and conflict resolution
- Experience working with youth, schools, or similar environments preferred
- Must be able to pass a DOJ background check and employment verification
- Must be able to walk and patrol outdoors for 8–10 hours per shift in varying weather conditions
- Must be able to safely intervene in physical altercations when necessary and in accordance with company policy and training
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Essential Duties:
- Conduct proactive foot patrols throughout the campus to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Monitor school grounds, buildings, parking lots, and common areas for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.
- Build positive, professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to safely resolve conflicts whenever possible.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, and other critical situations.
- Assist with campus access control and monitor authorized entry and exit points.
- Observe, document, and promptly report incidents, safety concerns, and policy violations.
- Coordinate with school administrators, supervisors, and law enforcement when appropriate.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and detailed incident reports before the end of each shift.
- Follow all client post orders, company policies, and state regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous campus safety or school security experience
- Experience working with adolescents or young adults
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in stressful situations
