Human Resources Manager
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee the day-to-day HR operations of an agricultural organization with a diverse workforce. This role is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, policy administration, compliance, personnel records, training coordination, and overall employee support.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who is comfortable balancing employee interaction, management support, compliance responsibilities, and detailed administrative follow-through in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with experience supporting hourly or field-based workforces are strongly encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, background checks, hiring recommendations, and onboarding.
- Administer new hire orientation, onboarding documentation, policy acknowledgments, and employee benefits enrollment.
- Maintain employee personnel files, HRIS data, I-9 records, wage notices, and employment documentation.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers regarding policy interpretation, employee concerns, benefits questions, leave requests, disciplinary issues, and general HR matters.
- Administer employee benefits programs including enrollments, changes, terminations, annual open enrollment, and employee communication.
- Coordinate leave administration including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, paid sick leave, workers’ compensation claims, and return-to-work processes.
- Partner with management on employee relations issues, attendance concerns, investigations, disciplinary documentation, and performance improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain current HR regulatory knowledge.
- Assist in development and communication of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
- Coordinate training programs, labor law postings, and required compliance documentation.
- Prepare HR-related reports, audits, and management updates.
- Manage unemployment claims, employment verifications, and other HR administrative projects.
- Foster a professional, approachable, and visible HR presence throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience required.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance.
- Proven experience in employee relations, leave administration, and benefits administration required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Strong communication, organizational, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and manage multiple priorities.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
