Human Resources Coordinator
Direct Hire Opportunity
Salary: $53,000–$60,000/year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Location: Lebanon, Ohio
Position Overview
We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support employees and management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will provide day-to-day HR administrative support while assisting with recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, training, benefits, and workplace safety initiatives.
The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with employees at all levels. Safety is a top priority in this role, and the HR Coordinator will play an active part in supporting a safe and compliant workplace.
Flexibility is required to occasionally work outside normal hours for new-hire orientation, employee investigations, safety-related matters, and other business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for HR functions, including employee engagement, recruiting, onboarding, safety, training, benefits, and general HR administration.
- Serve as a resource for employees by answering questions and assisting with HR-related concerns and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate employee information and enter new-hire data into the company’s HRIS.
- Maintain employee files, I-9 documentation, safety records, training documentation, and other personnel records in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with hourly timekeeping processes, including collecting and filing missed-punch documentation as needed.
- Help coordinate employee appreciation events, job fairs, company activities, and other engagement initiatives.
- Respond to employment verification, unemployment claims, and other employment-related information requests.
- Assist with purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Support internal HR communications by maintaining communication boards, managing employee suggestion boxes, and preparing communications that promote employee engagement and well-being.
- Support recruiting efforts by posting open positions to job boards, company websites, and social media platforms.
- Assist with candidate screening, interview scheduling, background checks, drug screens, and other pre-employment processes.
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding activities, including employee paperwork, ID badges, uniforms, and temporary agency requirements.
- Assist with new-hire orientation and training.
- Maintain documentation related to workplace incidents, accidents, investigations, and other safety-related activities.
- Help maintain required safety equipment and areas, including first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and related compliance items.
- Participate in plant tours and help identify potential safety and health concerns.
- Participate on the company safety committee, including taking meeting minutes and assisting with assigned action items.
- Assist with company vehicle/pool car tracking, scheduling, maintenance, and related activities.
- Provide general administrative support with office supplies, travel requests, mail, building requests, and other corporate needs.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, Business, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, Administration, Safety, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
- Strong conflict-management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to actively listen and communicate information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain company policies, procedures, and other documentation.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and participating in safety-related activities.
