American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring 3 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Short term acute care hospital setting in the Medical Surgical unit

Patient ratios of 1:6-1:7
-
Night shift, 4x12 hours from 6:45p-7:15a (3x12 schedules will be considered)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating required within scope to like units/sister facilities as needed
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Royal Blue scrubs required
-
Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
-
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)

Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Telemetry experience preferred
-
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias experience preferred
-
Epic EMR experience
-
Care for medical-surgical patients including GI, neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and renal needs
-
Skills include colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, CVA care, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and pre/post hemodialysis management

Isolation precautions and PPE protocols followed

All required training modules must be completed prior to start date, averaging 4 hours

Attendance at staff meetings is required

Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius, though non-local candidates are prioritized

Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler

Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed
-
During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
-
First-time travelers not accepted for this position
