About the Role
AQS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Debug Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts. You will utilize your technical expertise to perform complex electronic and electromechanical tests, troubleshoot down to the component level, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and maintain our high standards of product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing & Repair: Perform a variety of electronic and electromechanical tests and repairs on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure units function according to specifications or to determine the root cause of unit failure.
- Documentation Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret test schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine appropriate testing procedures and equipment.
- Equipment Calibration: Calibrate and maintain test instruments according to strict specifications.
- Component-Level Troubleshooting: Apply hands-on troubleshooting and soldering expertise to digital, analog, and RF electronic products down to the component level.
- Data Analysis & Record Keeping: Compare test results with specifications, record test data accurately, and plot test results on graphs.
- Failure Analysis: Analyze test results on defective units to determine the cause of failure, applying a deep knowledge of electronic theory and utilizing electronic test equipment.
- Defect Resolution: Replace defective wiring and components using hand tools and a soldering iron, or accurately record defects on unit tags for return to the production department for repair.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve complex problems.
- Test Setup Configuration: Assist in devising test equipment setups to evaluate the performance and operation of nonstandard or customer-returned units.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (Minimum requirement).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics troubleshooting, testing, or manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical background with proven knowledge and experience in electronics and electrical circuit boards.
- Lab Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using lab equipment, including:
- Multi-meters
- Spectrum analyzers
- Signal generators
- Oscilloscopes
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical issues and collaborate effectively.
Schedule
- Hours: 8-hour shift
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Flexibility: Must be willing and able to work overtime and Saturdays as production demands require.
