In this vital role, you will oversee daily kennel operations, ensuring the highest standards of animal care, safety, and customer service. You’ll coordinate pet care activities, and maintain a clean, organized environment that promotes the well-being of every animal in our facility. Responsibilities
- Both independently lead shifts and work with a team to oversee animal handling and care.
- Oversee daily kennel operations including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and exercise routines for dogs
- Ensure all animals are handled safely using proper restraint techniques and are monitored for health or behavioral issues
- Assist with dog enrichment activities to promote good behavior and socialization among pets
- Maintain detailed records of animal health, behavior observations, and care activities in compliance with facility standards
- Uphold safety protocols by managing heavy lifting tasks and ensuring the proper use of equipment to prevent injuries
- Weekend and holiday work is required
Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or pet sitting with a strong understanding of animal care best practices
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dog training techniques to assist in behavioral development programs
- Ability to handle animals safely using restraint methods appropriate for different species and temperaments
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking during busy shifts
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and manage shift responsibilities efficiently
- Must be 18+ to apply per our insurance policy
- Must be comfortable working independently and be able to self-manage
