Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our landscape construction and small excavation team. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery to support projects such as grading, excavation, drainage installation, hardscaping, and site preparation. The ideal candidate has experience in outdoor construction environments and takes pride in quality workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, and compactors
- Perform grading, trenching, and site preparation for landscape construction projects
- Assist with installation of hardscapes (patios, retaining walls, walkways) and drainage systems
- Read and interpret project plans, grade stakes, and site markings
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures
- Work collaboratively with crew members and project managers
- Assist with general labor tasks when needed
- Transport equipment and crews to job sites.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating construction and landscaping equipment
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong understanding of job site safety practices
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor as needed
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in landscape construction or site development
- Knowledge of grading and finish work techniques
- Ability to read blueprints or landscape designs
