Are you a Veterinary Technician possibly looking for a change of scene?
Sure, The Lake Mills Veterinary Clinic is Wisconsin's first Low Stress Handling hospital...but we've been on the floor with puppies, touch training, treating, and burrito wrapping for decades before we earned the designation. We have a full-time behaviorist on staff, an outdoor exam room for those shy dogs and nice days, and 1/3 of an acre fenced-in where we teach classes from puppies to beyond basics and rally. (and for Dr. Stork to take his 7-minute nap at noon) We host 23 free community service lectures on topics from 911-Or No Big Deal, interpreting dog and cat language (that'd be a work in progress) to dealing gently with clients and pets near end-of-life. We break-bread, listen to music and go fishin' with our clients, and we treat them like friends...because they are. Lake Mills is a rapidly growing small town with an 1100 acre lake, three breweries, a winery, a night club, and a dozen churches...and enough sinners to keep 'em all full.
What You'll Do
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgery, and dentistry
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery
- Perform laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and treatments
- Provide compassionate, low-stress handling and patient care
- Work closely with our team to ensure every patient has the best possible experience
What We're Looking For
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential
- Passion for practicing compassionate, low-stress handling
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
