Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Litigation Association with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as first chair in litigation. The ideal candidate will be able to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision and demonstrate a strong courtroom presence, client communication skills, and attention to detail. This is a fully remote role with flexible hours, ideal for a self-starter looking to grow within a dynamic law firm that values autonomy and results.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead counsel on hearings, depositions, mediations, and other litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and legal memoranda
- Conduct client meetings, strategy sessions, and case assessments
- Maintain accurate time entries and meet billable hour expectations
- Collaborate with paralegals, administrative staff, and other attorneys
- Participate in firm meetings, trainings, and case reviews
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in Georgia (Tennessee a plus)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as first chair in contested litigation, including bench and jury trials
- Strong foundation in civil procedure, evidence, and substantive law relevant to business, family, and civil disputes.
- Effective oral advocacy skills and comfort with courtroom appearances.
- Experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, or other legal research platforms.
- Ability to manage a case from intake through resolution independently
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Comfortable with remote work, self-management, and cloud-based legal practice tools
