Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily functions of our retail or service-oriented business. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing store operations, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory control, and cash handling procedures
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer interactions
- Manage employee orientation programs and ongoing training to promote a knowledgeable and engaged staff
- Oversee purchasing, merchandising, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize sales and profitability
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and financial reporting in compliance with company policies
- Implement effective management of POS systems, inventory management tools, and retail math calculations for sales analysis
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, phone etiquette, organizational policies, and store procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or store supervision with a focus on team leadership and operational oversight
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll administration, bookkeeping, and inventory management
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to enhance communication with diverse customer bases
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing POS systems, cash handling procedures, merchandising, pricing strategies, and retail math
- Excellent communication skills combined with organizational expertise in shift management and time management
- Experience in training & development initiatives along with budget planning and financial management skills
- Supervising experience within grocery stores or retail environments is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to lead by example in customer service excellence while maintaining a positive store atmosphere
