Hourly YouthCity Elementary Program Instructor I
Job Description:
Salt Lake City is looking for Hourly YouthCity Elementary Program Instructor's to provide supervision for elementary school-age youth and the implementation of YouthCity program goals.
This position will support our YouthCity Afterschool Program which will operate through the 2026-2027 school year. Once hired staff may select to continue employment for the 2027 YouthCity summer program.
This role requires teaching in an out-of-school-time setting, program implementation, communication with program staff, data collection and developing strategies to meet and exceed all organizational goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a High School graduate or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age. Experience working with school-aged children and/or other related experience is preferred.
This is a grant-funded, at-will position. The current end date for this grant is June 30, 2028, meaning your employment will end no later than that date. If additional funding is secured, your employment may be extended.
We are hiring staff to work at all seven school-age locations. Teams of Instructors report to a full-time Senior Community Programs Manager who oversees each location.
This position will work 25 hours a week. During the school year, the work hours are Monday – Thursday from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday from Noon – 6:00 p.m. During the Summer Program, this position will work 5-hour blocks Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. depending on program necessity.
Position Wage: $18.00/hr.

Moderate physical activity. Required to push, pull, or lift medium weights. Uncomfortable working positions such as stooping, crouching, and bending. May have a few disagreeable elements such as exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
