Duties
- Thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Ensure all food handling areas are kept hygienic and organized in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Support the kitchen team by bussing tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in dining and service areas
- Operate commercial dishwashers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow strict sanitation protocols to uphold kitchen health and safety standards
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, or supplies safely while adhering to ergonomic practices
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in commercial kitchens
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, ovens, or food prep tools is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting the culinary team
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
