MongoDB Database Administrator / DBA (Remote, Part-Time)
Pay: ~$70/hr.

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a part-time MongoDB Database Administrator to provide expert ad hoc operational support for enterprise MongoDB environments. This part-time role focuses on production database administration, including cluster health monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security hardening for both self-managed and Atlas deployments. As a key team member, you will troubleshoot complex issues, optimize database operations, and ensure high availability. This part-time position offers opportunities to grow your expertise with cutting-edge MongoDB technologies, tackle new challenges, and collaborate within a dynamic, supportive remote team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer production MongoDB databases, including self-managed clusters and MongoDB Atlas environments.
- Monitor cluster health and performance using MongoDB tools and implement proactive optimizations.
- Manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Perform security hardening and configuration reviews for MongoDB deployments.
- Conduct performance tuning on queries, indexes, and database resources.
- Support replication, sharding, and high-availability configurations in enterprise settings.
- Execute core administration commands and troubleshoot operational issues across distributed systems.
- Review and apply production configuration guidance for optimal MongoDB performance.
- Collaborate on monitoring, maintenance, and ongoing database operational tasks.
- Provide Level 3 or Level 4 escalation support for complex MongoDB incidents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years MongoDB administration (DBA) experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Expert in MongoDB Atlas, replication, sharding, performance tuning.
- Strong production database troubleshooting skills.
- Relevant MongoDB certifications preferred.
