Job Summary
Parker Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to support the design, development, analysis, and testing of high-speed rotating machinery, including fans, pumps, and compressors operating at speeds up to 24,000 RPM. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in aerospace or defense applications who enjoys working on innovative electro-mechanical systems in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, develop, test, and troubleshoot rotating machinery and electro-mechanical systems.
- Perform engineering calculations related to machine design, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
- Prepare, review, and check engineering drawings in accordance with drafting standards.
- Support prototype builds, hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure designs meet technical, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, customers, and program management.
- Apply ANSI Y14.5 (GD&T) standards throughout the design process.
- Support product improvements and engineering change activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and development of rotating machinery or electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience in aerospace or defense engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Machine design
- Fluid dynamics
- Heat transfer
- Engineering drawings and drafting standards
- ANSI Y14.5 (GD&T)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting technical and project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with prototype hardware, testing, and validation.
- Knowledge of military specifications and environmental requirements.
- General machine shop experience.
- Experience with hydraulics, mechanical feed systems, linear controls, basic electronics, and servomechanisms.
Additional Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to work onsite in Irvine, CA.
- Occasional extended work hours may be required to support project schedules.
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
