An Advanced Systems Technician Level 1 is an entry-level field technician responsible for assisting with the installation of audio, video, networking, and control systems. This role focuses heavily on structured cabling, device mounting, basic terminations, and learning the foundational skills required to advance within Bandera’s Access Systems (A/S) team.
Technicians in this role must demonstrate a willingness to learn, follow directions from senior technicians, travel when required, and show strong problem-solving initiative.
Run cabling through walls, ceilings, floors, conduits, exterior pathways, and structural spaces.
Mount displays, projectors, lifts, speakers, cameras, and other AV equipment on walls or ceilings.
Terminate cables using appropriate connectors for networking, AV, or control systems.
Review blueprints, scopes of work, and work orders to understand installation requirements.
Perform basic testing of cables and installed devices to verify proper termination and system functionality.
Assist Level 2 and FIM technicians with system staging, hardware placement, and pre-configuration tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow instructions accurately and ask clarifying questions when needed.
Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are handled safely and properly.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least one to two years of related experience preferred (low-voltage, AV, construction, or similar).
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and work at varying heights.
