Job Purpose
Pikes Peak Protection Group is a premier armed protective security service provider. We set the standard in the security industry because we only hire protective officers that were prior Military Veterans with several years of relevant experience, prior Law Enforcement Officers with special tactics training, or prior Armed Protection Specialists with at least 1 year of experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Premises Security and Patrols
Secure assigned premises and protect personnel by conducting regular patrols of property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and controlling entry/exit through proper verification procedures.
Loss Prevention and Incident Response
Prevent losses and damage by identifying and reporting irregularities, enforcing site rules and company policies, addressing safety hazards, and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Situational Awareness and Decision-Making
Maintain a high level of situational awareness at all times. Demonstrate the ability to remain calm, professional, and effective when responding to high-stress, emergency, or rapidly evolving situations.
Reporting and Documentation
Accurately complete written reports and logs, including observations, incidents, irregularities, and surveillance activities. Conduct witness interviews, obtain written statements or signatures as appropriate, and ensure reports are submitted in a timely and professional manner.
Professional Communication
Communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and management. Maintain a professional demeanor and mature judgment when dealing with the public, tenants, visitors, or law enforcement.
Policy and Procedure Compliance
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines as written. Ensure compliance with site-specific post orders and client requirements.
Trespass and Threat Mitigation
Safely and lawfully remove trespassers or unauthorized individuals from the premises in accordance with company procedures and applicable laws. De-escalate situations, when possible, while maintaining authority and professionalism.
Technology Usage
You will be expected to utilize various technology systems, including workscheduling platforms, guard reporting software, time and attendance tracking, and communication tools for effective information flow. A basic understanding of mobile applications and phone software is required to perform the role efficiently. You may be asked to use your personal devices to access these systems.
Working Conditions· Scheduling and Availability
Independent Contractors must be flexible and able to work shifts at various locations in Colorado Springs and potentially Denver. All positions require working different shifts and sites, with assignments that may be armed, unarmed, or involve taser duty as needed.
Background and Screening- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, driving record review, and drug screening is required prior to employment. Employees are expected to maintain a clean background record and remain free from illegal substance use for the duration of their employment.
Transportation- Access to your own reliable transportation to and from assigned worksites is necessary for job related travel and/or commuting.
Licensing and Permits- Applicants must be able to obtain a Colorado Springs Guard Card as a condition of employment. Independent contractors with a Denver Guard Card will have the opportunity to work at various sites in the Denver area if they choose too.
Training and Certification-All contractors must successfully complete bi-annual firearms qualifications.
Physical and Mental Requirements
The following essential functions must be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Stationery and Mobile Posture
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 70% of the time) while in full duty gear based on uniform policies. This includes sitting, standing, bending, and reaching at various times as required by operational needs.
Mobility and Movement
Must be able to move throughout assigned premises (indoors and outdoors), traverse obstacles, and frequently or occasionally ascend/descend stairs, sometimes quickly, to reach various locations.
Environmental Conditions
Must be able to work in a variety of environments and weather conditions, including but not limited to rain, snow, wind, and extreme temperatures. Must also be able to work in environments that may involve exposure to illness, dirt, or unsanitary conditions.
Use of Force and Safety Response
Must be prepared and willing to use physical force if necessary to protect self and others, in accordance with applicable laws, company policy, and ethical standards.
Lifting and Carrying
Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, or transport equipment or individuals weighing between 25 and 180 pounds with or without assistance.
Vision
Must maintain adequate visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception to accurately identify persons, objects, distances, and potential hazards in varying light and environmental conditions.
Hearing
Must maintain sufficient auditory perception, including the ability to distinguish speech, detect alarms, and recognize the direction and distance of sounds in a variety of environments.
Decision-Making and Stress Tolerance
Must possess the ability to exercise sound judgment, remain composed, and demonstrate emotional resilience and professional conduct while managing conflict, emergencies, or other stressful situations.
Equipment Operation
Must consistently operate and handle security-related equipment, including but not
limited to mobile devices, computers, radios, defensive sprays, handcuffs, firearms, and company vehicles, as required by job duties.

Compensation
·Job Type: Independent Contractor-1099 position-$22.00-$25.00 Depending on qualifications. Hours are available depending on individual availability and flexibility and contract needs.
