Job Overview:
We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Manager/Cashier to join our team at our smash burger restaurant. This dual-role position combines customer-facing service with leadership responsibilities. You’ll be the face of our restaurant during shifts, managing front-of-house operations, taking customer orders, handling transactions, and ensuring a smooth, clean, and friendly dining experience. Must have NYC Food Handlers License
Key Responsibilities:
Cashier Duties:
- Greet customers with a friendly attitude
- Take and process orders accurately (in-person and online)
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments using the POS system
- Ensure orders are correct before delivery to guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the counter and dining area
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints professionally
Managerial Duties:
- Supervise front-of-house staff during assigned shifts
- Maintain inventory levels and report low-stock items
- Open and/or close the restaurant, following checklists and security protocols
- Train new team members on cashier and customer service procedures
- Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and service quality standards are met
- Resolve staff and customer issues efficiently
- Communicate with kitchen staff and coordinate order flow
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or fast-casual setting required
- Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
- Comfortable handling money and operating POS systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Comfortable working around hot equipment and in a kitchen environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
