Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Opener/Closer to join our dynamic childcare team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for opening and closing our preschool or daycare facility, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for children and staff alike. Your energy and attention to detail will help set the tone for a positive day of learning and play, while maintaining smooth daily operations. Responsibilities
- Greet children, families, and staff warmly during opening and closing shifts, establishing a friendly atmosphere.
- Prepare the classroom or activity areas for daily use, including setting up materials and ensuring cleanliness.
- Monitor children’s safety and well-being throughout the day, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Manage classroom routines such as snack time, nap time, and transitions with patience and consistency.
- Conduct thorough end-of-day clean-up, organize materials, and secure the facility to ensure safety.
- Communicate effectively with team members about daily activities, incidents, or special needs.
- Follow all licensing regulations and company policies related to childcare, behavior management, and emergency procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or babysitting is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Ability to manage classroom activities with strong organizational skills.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude toward children’s needs.
- Flexibility to work early mornings (opening shifts) or evenings (closing shifts), including weekends if required.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
