Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, learning, creativity, and social skills.
- Ensure the safety of all individuals by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures when necessary.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to update them on their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Support children with disabilities or special needs by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance.
- Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and age-appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that encourages learning and play while following all mandated reporting laws for child safety incidents.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children across different age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and activity planning for children.
- Valid certification in First Aid and CPR; ongoing training in childhood safety is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with parents, guardians, and team members.
- Ability to follow mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being.
- Prior experience in childcare settings such as daycare centers, babysitting, nannying, or youth programs teaching experience is advantageous.
- Enthusiasm for teaching young children through play-based learning and nurturing guidance.
