Education – A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Completion of a program or training in Medical Office Technology or a related field is preferred.
Experience – A minimum of one (1) year relevant experience is preferred.

The purpose of this position is to gather and enter all pertinent information for patients admitted for services. Position is required to interview patients upon arrival to the facility and ensure all required documents are signed and entered into the EHR system. Position is required to complete other tasks as needed.
Work is performed in a hospital and ambulatory health care setting. Risk of exposure to infectious diseases does exist.
Performance of duties requires being seated for long periods entering data and requires the demands of normal medical record and office work.
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
Interviews patients or representatives to obtain reason for visit, all demographic information, person to notify in case of emergency, attending physician and individual or insurance company responsible for payment. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, perform and/or complete prior authorization requirements, as needed, and schedule for services.
Answers daily inquiries of patients and public in person or via telephone regarding registration procedures, hospital regulations and services. When necessary, refers inquirers to appropriate personnel or department elsewhere in the hospital.
