Duties
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers, including roll-off trucks, and Flatbeds adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat), ensuring compliance with all hazardous materials regulations and handling dangerous goods with precision during load & unload processes.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes across the Permian Basin, optimizing delivery times while maintaining safety standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to verify safety, cleanliness, and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries, including logs for hazardous materials shipments and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route status, delivery updates, or any incidents encountered during transit.
Experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement required; 5 years with prior experience in hazardous materials transportation strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of commercial truck driving, including experience with tractor-trailers such as flatbeds or tankers.
- Familiarity with Roll Off trailers is highly desirable. We will train the right person.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), and DOT safety standards is essential for success in this role.
- Ability to handle cargo safely during load & unload operations.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures and the importance of safety when transporting dangerous goods.
