Food Safety & Quality Supervisor
Location: Multiple openings – Rochelle, IL | Osceola, IA | Austin, MN | Pelican Rapids, MN | Hayward, CA
Schedule: 1st Shift (4:00–7:00 AM start, ~9-hour shifts)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000 (15% premium for CA)
Overview
We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Supervisor to join a large, established food manufacturing environment with strong internal growth opportunities. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing quality operations on the production floor while driving food safety and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 4–6 quality auditors, ensuring product quality and compliance standards are met
- Support and execute food safety and quality programs (HACCP, GMP, regulatory standards)
- Spend approximately 60% of time on the production floor monitoring processes, identifying quality issues, and coaching teams.
- Conduct daily shift meetings to review production goals, quality KPIs, and issues from previous shifts
- Perform product checks, audits, and documentation review to ensure consistency and compliance
- Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, production, leadership) to resolve quality concerns
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, compliance, and production quality
- Manage schedules, performance, and development of direct reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Animal Science, Nutrition, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in food safety and/or quality within a manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience (or strong lead-level experience)
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and develop teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production floor environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Food safety certifications (HACCP, SQF, etc.)
- Experience in high-speed food production environments
- Background in audit readiness, compliance, and process improvement
