Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will assess community needs; evaluate outreach and engagement gaps; and develop systems for tenant engagement, partnership development, data collection, and housing resource coordination. This project alleviates poverty by expanding organizational capacity to improve access to affordable housing resources for low-income individuals and families. VISTA members serve Oregonians through indirect service and capacity building, meaning the work you will do is the behind-the-scenes. While programs developed endure for years, you will have limited direct interaction with community members. Ideal candidates are interested in systems development, take a proactive approach and can work independently. Interest or experience working with community is preferred. Position specific benefits: Shared 2-BR apartment 5 minutes away from the office. Neighborhood House will cover 75% of the rent and the member is responsible for just 25% ($250/month). TriMet transit pass provided.
