Duties
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
- Provide high-quality animal husbandry and pet care, ensuring animals are comfortable, clean, and well-cared-for during their visit.
- Support kennel operations by cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal behavior, and maintaining a safe environment for both animals and staff.
- Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments, demonstrating knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, medications, and laboratory tests while adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.
- Support front desk activities by greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient files with professionalism.
- Assist with laboratory work such as sample processing or running basic diagnostic tests under supervision.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal pet care.
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience that demonstrates familiarity with veterinary terminology and clinical workflows.
- Strong animal handling abilities across various species, including dogs, cats, and equines.
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and medication administration protocols.
- Experience with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory testing is a plus.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and understand animal anatomy and physiology thoroughly.
- Excellent communication skills for front desk duties and client interactions; ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
